I gave a speech this morning to about 200 managers at Microsoft, as part of their author breakfast series. After that I met with the PowerPoint team to share observations and ideas for the next release of Microsoft Office.
We spoke in particular about SmartArt, which is by far my favorite presentation tool because it makes it easy to create slides that pass the squint test, just like the one to right, in seconds.
I gave a demo of SmartArt on Wednesday in Dallas, during a workshop with management consultants, whose firm had not yet upgraded to Office 2007. They literally broke out into spontaneous applause: the tool is that good.
